Parking Purgatory
The renovation of Town & Country Village is underway! “While it’s not quite the nether reaches of hell, it’s pretty close.” - Leila Lyons. Please bear with us as you visit the gallery over the new few months (see the “News & Articles” section of LyonsLtd.com for parking instructions & map) or contact us about setting up an in-home consultation with one of our staff, as well as pickup & delivery services. We are confident that the facelift, which includes new outdoor gathering areas and landscaping, new lighting, and improved public access, will be worth it in the end.
Caviar & Chocolate Fountains
The Arts of Pacific Asia show in San Francisco is coming up February 2-4! Over 85 beautiful displays take you through 2000 years of Asian art, including textiles, furniture, sculpture, works on paper, and more. Also of note: The preview party on Thursday, February 1 is a fabulous social event for those who want to see and be seen, while partaking of the caviar and chocolate fountains. The evening benefits the San Francisco Asian Art Museum – call (415) 581-3788 for tickets.
Curator’s CornerInstant Expert Tip: John Gould (1804-81) printed all of his bird lithographs on folio paper measuring approximately 15” x 22” except one. The Trogon Resplendens (Resplendent Quetzal) is the only bird to be done on an oversize folio (approx. 39” tall), specifically made by Gould and his wife Elizabeth in order to capture the extraordinary plumage of the bird’s tail. Stop by the gallery to view this rare work, along with many others by Gould.
